Wooded garden design
Wolterinck were asked to design the garden of a villa in Zeist. It became a wooded garden with different perspectives and the clear lines so typical of a Wolterinck design. The task was to create a garden that could be enjoyed from each of the three terraces, with beautiful views offered of the surrounding woods and with the villa’s interior extending naturally out to the exterior. The garden also needed to be somewhere in which you could potter, wander, relax on a bench or sunbathe on a comfortable lounger. A traditionally crafted garden with plenty of imaginative surprises. Wolterinck opted to use clouds of buxus near the building, elegant pergolas, blocks of beech tree, terraces with basalt cobbles and, viewed from the house, lanes of rhododendron leading towards the woods.
