Wolterinck recently designed the Onde for Carpetlinq, a beautiful rug that looks stunning in any tasteful interior. The Italian word ‘Onde’ means waves and this can be seen in the lines of the rug. The rippling weave creates almost a layered structure as if the luxurious mohair rug takes in space but without crowding. The different piles in the rug create additional movement. A special tuft technique was applied using long and short yarns, so that the mohair flows freely and creates depth. Tufting is an artisan method for high pile rugs and carpets in which individual tufts of mohair are shot through the cloth using a special tuft gun. The Onde is the first in a series of three. The other two rugs, Esatto and Pudore, will be released in the coming months.
