Suus Kooijman

Suus Kooijman’s layered paintings are like photos covered in ice. The blurred images have a transparent and immaterial appearance through the use of beeswax. The warm wax and the pigments flow through and over each other to create an image that is initially unknown even to the artist. It is the material that asks her what she needs to do.
